ROLEPLAYING MINIATURES

Fire Kobolds

DnD Dungeon monsters

DnD NPC's and baddies

DnD Monster's

Mix of custom models

These custom models were all varying degrees of kitbashes. One was a simple base sculpt, the others required green stuff work and a bit of a rummage in the bits box. A favorite here is the woman with flames. The model itself is a soft plastic model from a Pathfinder range with little detail but with some blocky painting emphasizing the detailing and the sculpted flame barrier on her base, she really pops, especially with the exciting mix of flame and purple. A final touch was the ashen "flaming hot" coals she walks upon, which really sell the idea of her being flame impervient.

Large Dragons mix

These large dragon models are from a mix of manufacturers, some well-known and some smaller companies. I enjoyed their superb detailing and insane sculpts and had a great time experimenting with paint techniques on the differing paint schemes such as the mottled wings of the ice dragon (first pictured).

NPC's and Monsters mix

This mix of NPC's and monsters is a fun mix of soft plastic models from Reaper, games workshop, and even some printed models. The client wanted a basic style but with striking coloring. I particularly enjoy the alternative "easterlings" from the games workshop, painted here in silver.

Monsters

More monsters for the same client. This order consists of everything from werebears to flying bats (giant ones at that). There is even a giant genie (as in "in the bottle" type) which was perhaps my favorite of the lot with his gawdy and imposing turquoise cloth tones and his "flaming" sword.

Mixed Animals

One of my favorite orders of all time, is a giant animal order. Animals are forgiving to paint but difficult to get "right". I think I did a good job on these. Many animal schemes are copied from Google images or similar (and extensive) inspiration material provided by the client in this case. Models of note include the giant smilodon (that's saber tooth to you and me) and the "pack bird", laden with adventuring gear. Simply delightful.

Scenery

Painting terrain and scenery is a different kind of rush to painting models, painting models is particular and precise, and painting terrain is more broad but has its own quirks. In this instance, the balance between color and weathering was paid attention to along with an interest in creating cohesion across the entire commission so that they all complimented each other on the table.
