MALIFAUX

Malifaux is a famous and exciting range of miniatures that has a cartoony and exciting appearance. I enjoy painting Malifaux because it has a lot of dynamism and excitement to it's sculpts. Because of its slightly colorful style I chose to paint it with a similarly cartoony look by using block coloring and a distinct and strong color scheme. The basing method for the commission below was custom and was meant to emulate swamp-like basing, the looks was achieved by mixing gloss varnish, PVA glue and color over the existing "mud" look bases. After that static grass was "trodden" into it with a paintbrush,  the final look is surprisingly visually appealing but basic which helps to keep the focus on the models and not to detract from the painting.
