BOLT ACTIONPilotsI actually don't know which range, time period or country these models are meant to represent or be from but I enjoyed painting them a lot. I particularly enjoy the color scheme which, albeit very simple, is uniformly complimentary to itself. Even the "outside" colour choices of the green seem to fit in very well and the lovely yellow tones of the masks just make me smile.
BlackadderI really enjoyed this order and it brought back lots of good memories of the show which I grew up watching and always loved.
In British schools (at least when I was there) they often use the show to educate people on the horrors of WWI such as the food shortages and the command structures. SengaleseBolt action has a way of bringing more unique and interesting historical forces to your table. I for one didn't know about the sengalese influence on WW2. Learning about their influence while painting these was very interesting.
Snowy GermansThis order could almost be seen as a practise in painting desaturated coloring. From the dull but yet simultaneously light greys to the washed out greens and the snowy basing. I genuinely enjoyed the final product with the muddy streaks coming up the legs of most models giving a battle worn look.
Snowy USAThis small winter USA army was very fun to paint. It was about this time I began to experiment with colored primers so this order was sprayed with one green and one brown can, noticable by their distinctly split tone colour scheme. Note the green and brown coats and trousers. The finished look was great and they appeared very cohesive.
Resistance and sailorsThis basic but fun order represents the resistance in france and some british sailors. I had a lot of fun painting the blues of the sailor uniforms and though the resistance paint scheme is basic it really pulls the otherwise ragtag team of men together as a unit.
GermansOver the years i've painted hundreds of germans. A particular favourite german color scheme is the camo uniforms of the Germans, showed off aptly here in this small collection.
GermansGerman uniform colour is notorious for causing debate in the wargaming community. After years of research and painting many germans I can definitively say there wasn't one sinlge color. It varied wildly from green to grey to blue, that is unless the troops were all early war, during which time a much more cohesive uniform existed. This order was unique and the client wanted a cleaner "fresh" factory look with less weathering, the tanks appear as new (almost) and the troops sport fairly fresh uniform too, in all the same colour. Obviously pleasent to paint but also really fun to behold.
German tanks with striped camoThe infamous german tanks of WW2 often sported some colorful and exciting camo tones, this order was one of my first 28mm sized experiences of this (being that i have painted them in 15mm a few times). The final look was fantastic, aided by a smattering of weathering and muddy texture chucked into the traks.
